Most importantly, with Bartender being incorporated straight into macOS, the large percentage of Mac users who don’t already know Bartender exists would be able to take advantage of this as well, meaning that everyone benefits in this situation. If you were acquired by Apple, you could add features like scrollable menus or a Bartender Bar for the left side of the menu, something I don’t think is currently possible with a third-party app. The only way for it to become a native feature and be implemented as well as it currently is in your app is for Apple to buy you out, and you could work with the macOS software team to further optimize the menu bar, and continue to respond to users’ feature requests with this email. Bartender should change from a paid third-party app to a native feature of macOS, which would solve the menu bar issue for the majority of Mac users, notch or not. I think Bartender should be acquired by Apple. ![]() So, I think I have a solution, and before I tell you, fair warning that I am not a businessman, I have no affiliation with Apple, and don’t know about how a lot of my plan would work in a financial sense, but I want to tell you why it makes sense in a technical sense. Bartender fixes this issue for me, as I have most of my menu bar items located in the Bartender Bar so they don’t crowd the main bar, but not every Mac user wants to spend $15 or sign up for Setapp for such a simple app that solves such a fundamental issue that is currently plaguing many of Apple’s most “pro” Mac users who just threw them $2000+ on a new MacBook. The latest version of Be a Bartender was updated on 2nd October 2020, ensuring a more enjoyable gaming experience for all players. ![]() Because of the notch, there is less space on either side of the menu bar to place icons so oftentimes, the icons get very close to the notch and sometimes, as shown in Snazzy Labs’ tweets, even go under the notch, making them frankly unusable and making Apple’s software team seem like they didn’t know the MacBook Pro even had a notch. You can also option-click the app’s icon and choose. The reason? I recently upgraded to the brand new 14-inch M1 Pro MacBook Pro with a notch. To reveal the hidden item collection, Bartender 4 lets you hover over any blank space in the menuthe secondary menu bar gracefully appears. I used to think it was a nice app to have on my Mac but now I think it is a necessity. Bartender 4 brought many new powerful features to help declutter the menu bar, particularly on the new MacBook models with a notch, which made menu bar real estate become even more valuable. I think it’s a great way to organize my menu bar so it is less cluttered, and all-in-all, functions like an “App Library” for my menu bar.
